I'm trying to bulk change a field for most of our users. I checked only that checkbox for "modify", but when I attempted to modify the fields, VBO reported that I needed to insert a value for the profile required fields (in this case, "First name" and "Last Name"). I obviously don't want to assign everyone the same name! Would it be possible for VBO to ignore required fields when the checkbox to modify those fields aren't checked? I can work around by "unrequiring" the fields, making the change, and adding the requirement back in, but this is annoying.

Thanks for the report. I was able to reproduce the problem and I'll work on it soon.

Sorry for not getting back to you concerning this issue. It is tricky and I haven't had lots of time to search for a fix.

VBO 1.8 was released on September 9, 2009. This issue was fixed on October 8, 2009, so you need to use the dev version. Does it work then?
