Pattern for pages that contain a pager: What should this pattern be?

I have tried searching/looking thru:

The issues list
The advanced help
The documentation
The list of available tokens
The Interwebs

To try and determine what a typical pattern should be for pages that contain a pager. And I just don't see it.

Could someone please point this out to me?
