I want a music community, tips concerning modules?

Hello,

i'm working on a joomla site in order to make a music community site.
unfortunately, after months of work i came to the conclusion that joomla is not good for music community.

i would like to check drupal, but before i start, i would like to check out if my efforts will be worth it.

for now, the only functions i would need on this site are:

- members can upload homemade music.
- they can add comments or descriptions concerning the uploaded song
- they can select a genre where the song has to be located
- users can rate or comment
- profilepages for the members, where you also see their activities concerning uploaded songs etc...

a bit like a typical image gallery, but for music.

believe it or not, but the things i want, do not excist for joomla (here and there a plugin, which doesnt work at all)

can someone advise me if drupal fits for my needs and what to install?

thank you very much!!

Easily doable with drupal-- probably without a single line of code.

Some modules you'll want to consider:

Commenting is part of core.

You've come to the right place-- good luck!
