Hi,
I am very happy that we have migrated to the central server for translations and a few people have already joined and have started posting suggestions, but the real problem we face is to post suggestions typed in Local Language, for example in our case how to type in Hindi while posting suggestions is the real problem there are a few modules available which help to type in Local Indian Languages for eg http://drupal.org/project/indic_script & http://drupal.org/project/gamabhana_drupal is there any possibility of having such features on this central server which helps typing in different languages.

gábor hojtsyI'm seeing you are the maintainer of the second mentioned option :) Now what are the differences, which one should we install and how should we configure it? (I have no prior experience with these tools). It would be vital that non-related languages are not affected.
Also, we seem to have Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi and Telugu among the languages related to the first item already on or near to be launched on localize.drupal.org, so this seems to be an important step to help translators.

abhisheknagar commentedHi,
the first option http://drupal.org/project/indic_script is better for localize its easy to install and configure once installed the user gets an block where he can select which language to type in, second option is good but cant be used with localize major fixes are required for it i would recommend using http://drupal.org/project/indic_script :)

gábor hojtsyOk, fixed title and will look into these modules hopefully soon.

gábor hojtsyOk, I've did brief testing locally with indic_script and deployed to localize.drupal.org BUT found a few pretty significant issues. Basically I cannot enable this without negatively affecting the other language teams. So we'd need to fix these issues first before I can enable this for you:
- #574692: Notices on line 208
- #574716: Include/exclude do not seem to work
- #574726: Always outputs block
In between the two last issues, I'm not getting why is there a duplication of the block visibility and the feature "visibility" based on paths. Especially that the feature visibility does not work and puts big amounts of JavaScript on pages where it is not supposed to show up at all.

abhisheknagar commentedOk
i will try to get in touch with the developer of this and resolve these

kkaefer commentedExcuse my ignorance, but shouldn't that be built into the operating system? I just tried it and enabled the Anjal input method on OS X and the example word form the module page appeared when I typed "ammaa".
abhisheknagar commented@kkaefer thats true but a normal user is ignorant about this

vinoth.3v commentedVery thanks for summarizing the things, Today I have updated the 6--2-1 version of indic_script, needs review.

I really like to see the Tamil(ta) setup on l.d.o[#604180], so that I can import .po from my site to l.d.o and continue from there.

gábor hojtsyIs this still needed or we are fine with the OS built-in features? Given how little attention this got from the requestors I assume its fine as it is. Please reopen if not.
