I disabled then deleted this module, I've cleared all caches and run update.php, but it's still generating "Re: [title...]" for all new comments.

How can we completely disable this?

I noticed there was still an entry in the system table for this module. removed that, but we're still getting "Re: ..." prefixes on all comment titles.

if you deleted the module where might reside the code which is still generating such subjects?

ahh - sorry about that! I just did some more digging and I found that the culprit is Nodecomment, which is also inserting the same "Re: " before the title.
