Hi,

I have contributed a module on Drupal "ShindigIntegrator". I have made an alpha release on Aug 17, 2009. There were some issues when I was tagging the release with name 6.x-1.0-alpha1. So I mistakenly created a tag and release named as 6.x-2.0-alpha1, which I realized later is incorrect. However, I cannot undo it now .

Can you pls help me to delete the release 6.x-2.0-alpha1 from ShindigIntegrator module,so that I can make a release with 6.x-1.0-alpha1 and then 6.x-1.0? I tried contacting Drupal contact form (http://drupal.org/contact), but unfortunately didn't get any response. I am not able to make my 1.0 release due to this reason.

Regards

Astha

Project releases are not deleted in these cases.

I am marking the report as won't fix.

Hi,

In that case, can we rename the release 6.x-2.0-alpha1 to 6.x-1.0-alpha1.

I edited the release information; the archive has been deleted, and it should be re-created. If this doesn't happen, I will change back the release information.

As there was not a tag DRUPAL-6--1-0-BETA1, the version is still associated with the old tag.

@KiamLaLuno - Please revert your edits. Having a release with one name pointing to a non-matching tag is wrong and contravenes the design of the release system.

Project maintainers need to think very carefully about what they're doing before they create releases. Editing or deleting (and to a lesser extent unpublishing) releases after they've been created and published should only be done in very rare circumstances since it confuses users and may cause warnings and errors on sites via update.module.

Yes, we shouldn't delete or edit releases. It causes bad stuff to happen.

Hi KiamLaLuno ,

Thanks for your support. I have just created 6.x-1.0-alpha1 tag in the CVS. Please point the release to the matching tag if it is really important. Hope this can solve the raised issues. Please let me know.

I reverted the changes I made. The archive for version 6.x-2.0-beta1 will be recreated in few.
