I have just done a fresh installation of Drupal 4.7B6 and am getting the error:

warning: Illegal offset type in /usr/local/www/drupal/includes/form.inc on line 504.

when I go to the Home ->user account -> edit form to change the details.

Only things I have installed are the fancy template from cvs and the pontomail module.
The error occurs on the Blemarine theme as well and happens for all users.

I have had the same problem. I unactivated the pontomail module and was then able to edit users again. I am using 4.7 rc1, clean install.

After trying to submit changes via the user edit page I get:

Warning: Illegal offset type in /home/somebody/public_html/cvs/includes/form.inc on line 522

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/somebody/public_html/cvs/includes/form.inc:522) in /home/somebody/public_html/cvs/includes/common.inc on line 233

I'll sumit an issue for pontomail.

I attempted to recreate this issue, but I could not. Could i get more information about it? I am going to release a slew of patches, and I'm in the process of doing that now. I'm also releasing a 4.7 edition.
