Insert Block renders correctlying with viewing a node ie

?=node/1

But when that node is promoted to the front page, the block doesn't get rendered properly. Instead it shows the embedded tag.

Fixed in the newly checked in 4.7 branch. Previously, only $node->body was being parsed for block tags.
