Combining the aggregator module with the vote up down module and an email fwd question

JennR2000 - March 30, 2006 - 15:33

So I am still learning about Drupal. I actually got it to do a few cool things but still I need it to do more and I am sure it can. I need to be able to combine to vote up down module to the aggregator pages so people can vote on news stories that are in the aggregator page.

Also I am wondering if there is a way to make stories move up and down according to their votes? I have tested the vote up down module to see if it has this feature but it seems it doesn’t.

I am fairly inexperienced in modifying modules and have only written one function for a Drupal ran site that involved displaying MapQuest maps.

Also thank you for all the help I have been getting after trying to use Pligg and not getting any responses from their support forums I truly appreciate all the help I have gotten and thank everyone for all the help I have been getting and can’t wait till I know enough about Drupal that I can be helpful as well.

Oh also is there a way to have emails forwarded to friends using a module or an already built in feature. Something like if a person likes the story they can enter their friends emails and send it from the site.

me too

me too

also for email, i think module is called forward. get latest version because there was a security problem.

Thanks I was debating on if I should get the forward or the email this page module. I like the forward one so that is checked off my list :) now getting the aggregator and vote up and down to work in perfect harmony is the next item on the list.

Aggregator2?

You might be able to do it with the aggregator2 module, which creates an individual node item for each RSS item. Then you can combine it with one of the voting modules to get users to vote it up or down. Note that there isn't an official release of aggregator2 yet, but it should work on Drupal 4.7.

I was able to get that to

JennR2000 - March 31, 2006 - 13:50

I was able to get that to work. It gives me PHP header errors though. But I got the voting to work. Now the only thing on my short term list is to get the nodes to move according to their rank from the votes and how recent they are.

Try Email This Page

There's a module, Email This Page, which should do this. There's version for 4.6 and a version for 4.7.

New Aggregator Node module

budda - April 23, 2006 - 02:24

I've just been putting together a new module to make Aggregator items appear as if they are Drupal nodes.

You can get the development version from http://drupal.org/node/59712

I'm still working on it, right now there is no safety for when the aggregator feed item is deleted.

The module is for 4.7 only.
