populate privatemsg 'to' field using existing value in cck field

Hi,

Is it possible to use the prepopulate module to populate the 'to' field in a new private message with a value from a cck user reference field? I can't even seem to manually do it, as there is no option to enable prepopulate with the privatemsg content. Any help very appreciated :-)
