Using Drupal 6.13 and the 6.x-2.x-dev version dated Aug 31, when I sign up as an anonymous user the groups do not get set on my mailing list. I noticed this was also reported on one of the other versions but not yet on this dev version.

Just committed a fix for this, along with a complete refactoring of how the stand alone form works. Test away and report any problems.
