I should add that I get this error whenever trying to view a thread now, so for now I had to disable the module.

This is a duplicate of #367535: php error after upgrading to alpha3.

You should always try searching to see if a bug has already been raised before creating a new one. Not only do you save me time, but you don't have to wait for me to reply! :D

Re-open this if you try the instructions in that other bug and it doesn't work. Cheers.

Weird... I checked CVS and that file was removed last January. The OP must be using a really old version of Author Pane.

I think I just never took it out from when I was using a really old version. It works now after following Liam's tutelage. ;)

Ah, that would do it. It's good practice to always delete the module folder before untarring a new one to avoid stuff like that. :)
