Since it states in the FAQ that it is possible, I'm wondering is this feature (perms) currently active?
I'm getting this message:
You don't have the required permissions to use remote submission on this Localization Server.

gábor hojtsyThere was a configuration glitch. Hopefully fixed. Feel free to try again now.
I still have a little gripe with the checking now, because it only gives you feedback on your permissions when setting up your own user key on the client and not when you try and submit a string. Even if you generally have permission on the server to submit strings, you might not be member of the team you are trying to submit a translation for, and that is still required for the string to be stored properly. But the language to be used to submit the string is only known on the actual submission (you can contribute to as many translations as many you can). The actual submission does save errors into the watchdog but it does not output them to the user which it should.
I've opened #568028: Inform user about submission status for this issue so we can have people to be aware if their submission was not accepted for some reason.

bas.hr commentedI had a working setup with a local l10n_server. I've switched sharing server to localize.drupal.org:
Verified that the specified server can handle remote string submissions. Supported languages: af, am, hy, bs, hr, cs, da, nl, fr, hi, ja, kn, lt, ml, mn, nb, nn, pt-br, pt-pt, es, te.
Requested and entered a new key in my profile, but I get errors in dblog:
Translation rejected by remote server. Reason: Wrong parameters or signature.
Does this work for anyone?

gábor hojtsyIt obviously worked for me, since I've demonstrated it at Drupalcon Paris :) Are you sure you copied the right key with all its contents?
