The module page claims it work well with the role delegation module. However, from what I can tell, there is no integration.
A role without the ability to edit a higher role can still modify the higher role's roles within their permissions.

My setup:

Admin
-Can grant moderator role

Any admin can grant or remove moderator roles on other admins via role_delegate.

Does the module integrate at all? Could this be added as a feature?

The D6 version is no longer supported, so I hope you don't mind if I close this very old issue. Hopefully it works in D7, although I don't personally role_delegate module.
