I have a bone to pick with Input format and WLW.....
This is frustrating and need help clearing this up about the "Input format".
I always want "anonymous user" using the "Filter html", but I want them to be able to view unfiltered content. The same for the "authenticated user" until I put them in a role with unfiltered features as far as the input is concern.
In other words, I want both roles to always be able to view unfiltered content, but "authenticated user" is only allowed to enter "FullHtml" when I put them in a role that allow it. "Input format" has no way of allowing me to configure it to allow me to do this. Either all or nothing.
For example:
When I use Windows Live Writer to post content, but it post as filered content. I have to edit the post in Drupal to unfiler the content. This is the frustrating part: In "Input format" when I change the "Default" to "Full Html" everything is fine when I post using WLW, but this allows everyone to post using "Full Html".
I am having trouble trying to come up with a combination using "Input format" to allow everyone to view FullHtml (posting with WLW without editing it in Drupal) but not allow "anonymous" and "authenticated" roles to input FullHtml. Can anyone help me out on this? Is this something I just have to deal with in using WLW?

I installed alot of modules
I installed alot of modules and I can't remember if I installed "Input Format". I would like to remove it. Is this a standard feature of Drupal 6.x? I disabled everything I thought "Input Format" was apart of.

Argh! I still can't get WLW
Argh! I still can't get WLW to post FullHtml without setting the "Input Format" to FullHtml and compromising "anonymous" and "authenticated" user roles. I'm just going have to deal with just using Drupal to post blogs! sigh!

I've never tried it, but maybe the http://drupal.org/project/wlw_blogapi module addresses some of this also.

Also, see http://drupal.org/node/287615 where the poster uses http://drupal.org/project/filter_default to get around the filter issue.
