Setting up the database on easyphp 3.0

Hello,
I am trying to install drupal on localhost with easyphp 3.0, and i have a recurring problem while setting up the database.

Here is my page:
Database name: * drupaldb (the name of my database in PhpMyAdmin)
Database username: * root
Database password:

Advanced options
Database host: * LOCALHOST

Here is the message I receive:
"
Failed to connect to your MySQL database server. MySQL reports the following message: Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO).
Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct database hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?

I have tried with alternatives, even strange ones...but nothing works.
Anybody knows where is my mistake?
