Hi all,

I hope somebody can help. The images in my image galleries, as well as all thumbnail photos of members, suddenly stopped showing up. Member photos simply don't show up at all, and same with the image galleries (although the captions members wrote, and the image titles, show up). When I go to administer the image galleries, these two statements show up:

The directory files/images is not writable.
The directory files/images/temp does not exist.

Can someone please tell me what is going on? I don't think I did anything to make this happen. Can someone hack to make this happen? And how do I fix it?

thanks!
Terri

Not sure but you might want to reset the permissions on the folder. It sounds like your host did an upgrade or something and broke your site a bit. Do the folders exist? If so, permissions. If not, then restore the files from backup.

Hi Steven,

thanks! Yes, as it turns out, that's what happened. My host did exactly that (without telling me first). They reset permissions, then found out their new permissions didn't work, then set them back...my images in the image galleries are now coming up (and so are my member thumbnail photos), but there's a new problem:

the images in the photo galleries are coming up HUGE!!!!! I don't know how to fix this! (My host doesn't either...) I've gone to admin>settings>image, and I see that thumbnails are set at 100/100, and previews are set at 640/640. I tried resetting preview to 100/100, but nothing changed with the images. Should I fill in a new category, with new size boundaries, or something else?

Thanks!
