This is a very cool module and could be expanded in very interesting directions. It's quite unique in what it does. Do you plan on developing this further?

battochir commentedPlease disregard the above post. It was posted under the wrong project. The more Drupal tries to simplify things, the more complicated they make everything. I long for the good old days.
As this mistake comes under Yahoo! Pipes and I recently asked questions there, I will post under that project once I have figured things out.
Sorry for creating this issue.

robloachNot sure where to go with the project. Would be great to add some features. Right now its a pretty minimalistic API module. Do you have any ideas?

battochir commentedAs I recently figured out how everything works, I'll share my two cents. This is a cool project. Why? Because this API offers flexibility most other API's don't. How? For example, using the ebay or Amazon API's, you can only play with ebay or Amazon information. With this API, you can choose from essentially an 'unlimited' number of sources, provided the source you wish to use has it's own API that allows you to connect.
Which brings me to my next point. Direction for the project. I can see many ways for this to go forward. I also see open API's coming to play a more important role. Look at facebook to see what I mean. They can't make a dime, but they have unbelievable traffic. People will NOT pay for their service and don't like their information being sold. Your profile on facebook is NOT your profile, it's facebook's profile on you...that you voluntarily supplied. Yet they can't find a way to monetize it. So, what do they do? API everything. They are essentially trying to become a hub for far more than just social networks and supplying an API for the world to use helps accomplish this.
How does this apply to this project? Could this module be made to support additional API's plus Yahoo pipes? Or could transactions be done from within a mashup, that is, not going to the site whose API you are utilizing for the transaction, yet simultaneously enabling the transaction? The end result for the site whose API you are using is the same, a transaction has occured that benefits them, yet the user never had to leave your site.
cheers,
wim

robloachIf people send up some code, I'd love to have it committed! :-)
battochir commentedFair enough. Do you plan on Drupal 7 support for this module? Is this something that you plan on developing longterm or simply deadends with Drupal 6...which would be sad!
robloachYup, there will be a Drupal 7 version. I stuck up the D7CX tag ;-) .

battochir commentedYou rock. Who do I submit code to when I have a crazy idea and toss something together, you or some drupal bodhisattva on one of their growing number of comittees?
robloachOh, just create a patch, make an issue for the project and upload it there. I'd love to have a look at any code that someone puts together. If you make an issue in the Yahoo Pipes issue queue, it will appear on my issue queue list.

battochir commentedThanks for the link, however, I get an 'Access Denied' warning. What's up with that?

robloachThe development snapshot isn't up yet ;-) . Give it a bit.
