I am using the panels demo site at http://panels.demo.logrus.com/ to learn about panels. It's very helpful. However, I can't understand how the three blocks are open in the right sidebar and the actual side bar in the panel are also identical (see attached for panel and block).

I would have thought that the front page would render incorrectly and that there would be a sidebar that reflects what's in the blocks and one that is in the panel. That is not the case.

Promise to help with documentation of panels 3 for your help.

If you visit http://panels.demo.logrus.com/admin/build/pages/edit/page-frontpage you will see that the Disable Drupal blocks/regions option is checked.

Thanks for getting back to me. I clicked on the link you provided and after logging in I was able to access the page. However, I see nothing that indicates that the blocks have been disabled. Take a look at the attached to see what I mean. I also check the panels version on my test site....nothing.

Sorry I forgot to include the screenshot!

Never mind. I found it. It is under Variants>Panels>General. The reason I could not find it is that the url path you provided is exactly the same for all sub menus under Variants>Panels. This will add to the confusion of people trying to learn panels 3.
