TemplateMonster Drupal Themes

I'm building a Mixed Martial Arts website which needs to be graphic intensive and frankly, very flashy. Template Monster has some nice templates but I have heard that the templates their are less than stellar performance wise. Are the templates there viable options to build on?????? I have recently purchased a video course on Drupal in order to master the structure but I need to know how to unleash my graphic designers on it. Thanks in advance

The thing with Template
The thing with Template Monster themes is that most of them feel like they were built for something else, then had Drupalisms shoehorned into them. It's sort of like porting a program from one language to another by trying to compile it and sticking band-aids wherever something breaks. They have a few decent themes, but it's generally not worth it. If you're looking for something good and you can't find anything acceptable in the Drupal Themes directory, give TopNotchThemes a look.

Thats a beautiful website!!! Thank you. Newbie question. How customizable are Drupal themes graphically. My graphic designer wants to go hog wild and I want to let him. he is a genius. My web master has built my first e commerce in Joomla and he loathes Joomla passionately. Thing is, I want to give my designer the same liberty with Drupal as he would have with anything else and maintain Drupals superior functionality.
My website will need a lot of custom art.

One can do anything whats
One can do anything whats graphically but it helps a lot if they understand how Drupal templating works so that graphic elements align with template html elements.
