If you want to try Drupal but don't want the hassle of installing Apache, PHP and MySQL, please check out Drupal-on-a-Stick (still very much in beta):

This project is inspired by WOS Portable (http://www.chsoftware.net/en/useware/wos/wos.htm), but I have created a solution where only the files necessary to run Apache and MySQL are included. Also, since Drupal-on-a-Stick is essentially a single Windows batch file, it is very easy to modify it to suit your own needs.

The only file touched by the batch file is libmysql.dll iff it is installed on the system. Please make sure to backup this file before running start.bat if you have MySQL installed.

How do I go about modifying it to carry phpmyadmin or something like that, so that I can more databases and maybe add gallery 2?

I just downloaded this and tried to unzip ( with win zip) and it fails every time...even rebooted a couple times and tried it again...is it still wroking or is there a goof somewhere?

I use http://www.server2go-web.de to put drupal on stick, works great.
