Transparent rounded corners

Default rounded corners are pretty, but if a different background color is set (e.g. black), the corners stand out because apparently they match the default color, and are not transparent.

In sites like http://globalfamilyproject.org/en this has been solved.

Are there plans to change the block border png files to transparent, or should I try to manually edit them with GIMP?
