I'd just like to say how annoying the new drupal.org site behaviour is for users not logged in. Being redirected to the drupal.org front page when browsing to the forum for the first time in a session is trying my patience.

I realise this is the product of changes designed to improve the site's performance, but it's nevertheless an extremely irritating niggle.

I noticed this too, but when following a link to a projects page. I thought it was a mistake on my end, but then it happened again to me. As a matter of fact, following this link from my google Reader feed brought me to the front page of drupal.org. I clicked the link again inside google Reader and it worked and brought me to this page.

I agree, this is extremely annoying. For me it occurs for just about any page, including my tracker and open issues pages.

not being logged and trying to access any URL under drupal.org redirects to the front page of the site

very annoying, must of all, when following e-mail links
moreover, the persistent login is disabled right now, so every time I browser for the first time I visit the homepage of drupal.org instead of desired URL

Same for me, this has happened several times during the last days, and for many different pages. It seems like it mostly happen first thing when I get to work in the morning, before I have visited any drupal.org page.

This morning (after reading this post in Google Reader) I went to Google first, searched for something that would take me to a drupal.org page (the issues list in this case), clicked it and was redirected to the front page.

What I find very strange is that I cannot reproduce it. If I delete all cookies, restart the browser, clear recent history etc. everything works as it should. Till next morning I guess :)

Even worse than just annoying regular users, this also kills links from search results. I would expect that drupal.org is going to stop being indexed by the major search providers soon if this isn't fixed, as clicking on a drupal.org result in say, Google, drops you on the front page. I would consider this to be a super-critical issue. Is there some sort of official contact or issue page for this?
