Hi all,
I'm doing a website for my cousin who is cycling from the uk to south africa in aid of a charity called recycle...
I have a couple of issues i could do with some help on - thanks in advanced:
1. I am after a simple message system so people can send him good luck messages. It would have simply 1. a page containing all the messages and an input form and 2. a block containing the most recent messages and link to the page mentioned before .I have tried various modules including user wall/guestbook/comment but cant get the usability/simplicity yet...Any thoughts?
2. I am after a way to get a newsletter going - again very simple....I am after the following: 1. a block with an 'enter you email' field and submit...and 2. a newsletter system to write plain text emails to those on the list and 3. a way to review the list of emails...
I have simplenews installed and think it may be the way to go, but i need to find out if its possible to add the block functionality as mentioned above and a way to review the email addresses people have submitted.
The site is a one user site running on Drupal 6. i would like to avoid people having to register with accounts.
Thanks for any help and have a nice day,
Joe
EDIT: item now closed - for all newsletter needs simple news is the one

for #1: one option would be to go with something like the http://drupal.org/project/tribune or http://drupal.org/project/shoutbox modules. Another way to approach it is to make a content type for "messages", use views to display the messages, and formblock to add the form to the same page.
for #2: yep, simplenews.
Thanks for your time
Thanks for your time Worldfallz and the good suggestion of Tribune, which is working very well...
Thanks again, much appreciated, joe

sorry - really i just wanted to remove the web address in the first post as google is indexing it! Any chance of that?
Of course, i would like the bulk of the text to stick around to help others out just as i've been helped out along the way
Many thanks, Joe
