how to make a third colllum for content in Innovation News

Hi there,

So, I have installed innovation news with the installation profile. Seems really cool, but I would like to know how can I edit the template so instead of 2 columns I can have 3, and decide which content goes in each (like one column for sports, one for opinion, one for economy)... what I want is to add a thir column, just that.

I guess it's possible with blocks and creating views, but I'm surprised from the fact that the administration pages and the normal site hace a different layout. Can anyone help me to understand it? thank you!

Just to make the question bigger, how can I make the template to have more locations like: on toptwo columns (contents a and b), then 3 columns (contents c, d, e) and before the footer several boxes (like blocks in a region)

So, I just discovered I already have the left sidebar were I can place blocks. Using VIEWS module I can create blocks for views for especific content, so I could start with that, but I'm still looking for the code to make it "auto" as it's done for the two default columns of this theme, and for how to be able to change to two columns when you scrool down... etc.
