I've patched the 5.x version with the patch in #328512: Nice Module? Why Stoped? Drup 6 Ver? and it seems to work just fine, so it would be great to get a release out so more people can test.

If you need help with this module, I would be happy to co-maintain, just so we can get a 6.x-dev version out there.

CCK_table is a simple module like its sister module CCK_List. Using only a textarea, it creates a table with . Tablefield is much more complex. Along with complexity comes a lag if performance. If this module solve the problem for you, then I would stick with it.
