I'm probably missing something. I'd like users of a particular role to have access to edit a specific node.

What I did:
1) Installed Content Access
2) Gave 'Grant content access' permission to admin
3) Edited Page content type, and clicked the 'access control' tab
4) I don't want to change the general access for the page type, so i left the check boxes alone.
5) But I did check "Enable per content node access control settings"
6) As admin, I went to the node I wanted to make editable, and clicked the new 'access control' tab for that node.
7) Under 'view any content' and 'edit any content' on that node's page (/node/257/access) I checked the box next to the role I wanted to have access. ("Manager")
8) Logged in as that role ("Manager).
9) I don't see an edit tab on /node/257 and when I try to visit /node/257/edit I get an "Access Denied" message.

Surely I'm not doing this correctly. (Or maybe my permissions are wrong?) Any suggestions? And thanks for all your hard work!

My test site is running:
Drupal 6.12 with Content Access 6.x-1.2
PHP 5.2.6
MySQL 5.0.45
Other enabled modules:
Advanced Help
CCK
Views
Content Profile
Date
Fasttoggle
Filefield
ImageField
Link
MimeDetect
Nice Menus
Taxonomy Redirect

I tried the exact same steps and it's working great, did you try it on new site?

Did you ever resolve this? I think I'm having a similar issue. My Access Control tab is not only showing for one of my content types, (FAQ) even though I have "Enable per content node access control settings" checked inside of the Access Control submenu of my Content Types area. It is checked for all content types, but when viewing or editing as admin or any other role that should be allowed, I only see this tab (or any of the others) for my FAQ content type.
