gregglesI synched you up with http://groups.drupal.org/user/36710/edit
Comment #2
Amazon commentedI think we need a D.O. front page post.
Where should I link to somewhere authoritative in the Drupal menu's on the front page regarding these issues?

gregglesThanks for the feedback.
I've written a front page post but wanted to let post-upgrade bugs shake out before making it live. We've got documentation in place now about how to configure the OGPanels home pages, which is a big deal and we fixed a lot of small bugs with the views, so it's nearly time.
dww pointed out that the issue queue is a horrible place for this because it's annoying to too many people. I agree and have realized that a custom cck content type on g.d.o that is available to anonymous and requires them for the two fields that we really need (profile on d.o, profile on g.d.o) is a better experience and a more efficient workflow for us. I plan to do that nowish.
We also need to write a query to do some magic that associates users more fully.
It's premature, but thanks for the input.

elijah lynnThanks Greggles.
I can login to Groups now.
Question: When I changed my email address on my DO. account I got some messages and one about not finding an account at Groups.drupal.org. See screenshot. Is this important?
gregglesIt is somewhat important. At least the one about g.d.o should have worked. I _just_ did the final queries to fully synchronize the account - can you edit again and see if that works?
elijah lynnI just changed it back to my old email address and it is still saying it can't find the groups...
gregglesPerhaps you are just too quick for my script to fix users ;) I've now confirmed the script works and that your account is definitely synched. Can you please test again and make sure that edits to your drupal.org account give a message that they are reflected on g.d.o?
elijah lynnSuccess!
Thanks Greggles!
Dublin Drupaller commentedhi greggles. can you work your magic for me? I've tried that synching thing..where you enter in a l ink to the d.o and g.d.o account, but, I still can't login.
gregglesHi @Dublin Drupaller - it takes some time to do these. You're in the queue for my next round of work on this. Unfortunately it requires access to a lot of different things so there are very few people who can do it.
senpai commentedPlease add me to this list. I also can't login to g.d.o. and I'm running the san diego group.
EDIT: I have just filled out http://groups.drupal.org/node/add/account-synch in the hopes that someone with superpowah perms will get to it soon.

Dublin Drupaller commented@Greggles
Thanks, but, now I have a strange problem. All my posts and groups joined list appear to be lost.
I've looked at it a bit further and I think I may have another account on g.d.o
i.e. one is Dublin Drupaller (which appears to be synching now, but, all my joined groups have been lost) and another called Dublin Drupaller@Drupal.org as well. How do I login using the latter? Or can I synch the Dublin Drupaller@Drupal.org account?
If it's of any help, the account page for Dublin Drupaller@Drupal.org is: http://groups.drupal.org/user/475
And my d.o account is: http://drupal.org/user/8625
I'm assuming that's what the problem is. Or could it have something to do with upper/lower case stuff?

gregglesThis synching of accounts is made more difficult by the fact that something in the upgrade broke the ability to view user profiles for non-admins, but we can still see usernames on threads. So, here's what I see:
Dublin Drupaller: http://groups.drupal.org/user/476 - started this thread
Gus Geraghty: http://groups.drupal.org/user/475 - started many more threads including this one
User 475 has a different mail than your d.o account so I synched your d.o account with 476. If you want instead to be synched with user #475, please send me a contact with the e-mail address in use on 475.
Dublin Drupaller commentedCan you drop me an email? I don't know yours and when I click on your user profile, the email will appear to come from Dublin Drupaller. I also can't login to g.d.o...so I can't send you an email from the other account.
What's slightly disconcerting is that my name is Gus Geraghty but the username for g.d.o was Dublin Drupaller@drupal.org. how come that's now displaying my real name, rather than my username?
gregglesThanks for the mail - should be synched now.
I don't know how your username got changed.
chrisshattuck commentedHi Greggles,
I'm one more to add to the list. I get the 'chrisshattuck is already registered..' error.
Thanks!
Chris
Comment #17
greggles@chris and anyone else - please use http://groups.drupal.org/node/add/account-synch
Comment #18
chrisshattuck commentedSweet, thanks greggles. I should have read the entire thread (whoops!).
jrdixey commentedI'm seeing a status message when calling this form that says:
"The e-mail address [email address of the latest person who used the form?] is already registered. Please contact the site administrator."
Initially, it said my email address (because I somehow ended up with two gdo accounts, and tried to synch them both), so I thought this message was specific to me, but when I called it again to verify the URL so I could share it with my local Drupal user group, it had someone else's address in the status message. Seems like it's either incorrectly echoing some previously used message to the screen, or attempting multiple times to synch whatever email was entered the last time the form was called.
BTW I'm using Google Chrome.
Hope this helps,
Jennifer

EoinBailey commentedI used the form posted by greggles last week, just wondering how long it will take before I can use groups again?
Thanks!
