terms do not wrap

terms outputted into the left area do not wrap but continue on one line untill they overlap/overflow the right side of the theme. the same happens if put into a div - if the div has a width smaller than the whole theme width the line of terms will simply flow over any border instead of wrapping.

i have tried to look in the style.css but cannot find anything. other themes wrap the output from terms just fine.
