I would appreciate some help from someone situated in Melbourne's inner-east (Australia).
Goal is to create a great web development environment for Drupal (and Wordpress, Magento, Joomla, etc).
I require someone with Ubuntu/Linux skills to help configure BIND9 / Apache / LAN / Virtualbox / router / etc.
Dev and Staging environments required ...
Quick summary: network computers (Mac 10.4 , WinXP) and Virtual Machines (Win 7) all need to be able to see development web sites (running in a few Xubuntu VMs) on primary development box (i7 Ubuntu 9.04 64 bit).
At the moment network is working pretty well, all machines are set up and just need someone to help configure DNS and a few tricks with Apache, Hosts, Webmin, etc.
I have a fixed IP, so probably some benefit in exposing these development/staging sites to clients without them coming to me.
In essence this is a move from using hosts file to fake domain names, to a more sophisticated (IMHO) setup where testing can be performed more effectively.
Ideally you will be very good at this kind of thing. You need ot be able to set it all up and show me how to modify it as new projects come in and others fade away.
I will pay for the help and request that person be able to come to my studio - day or night, weekend, whatever.
Also, if you have git expertise, would be a bonus from my POV.
