Hi there,

I'm not sure if this has been posted yet, but Greenpeace UK will be evaluating three open source content management systems and will possibly looking for a vendor for reworking of their site.

In my mind, Drupal landing this would be good high-profile publicity and would help the project. With the project's history of political advocacy applications, I think this should be a natural fit. Greenpeace Canada has even used Drupal in the past for their Kleercut site.

Are there any vendors out there wanting to make the pitch? Any thoughts? I'm linking this post back to the original blog listing, so I'm sure the person making the decision will be taking a look...

The site you linked is Rob Purdie, and he'll be going through the evaluation process in public. So, watch that space for more updates. Rob will likely be posting here on Drupal.org asking for info.

We at Bryght happen to know Rob Purdie, and I know that CivicActions talked to some Greenpeace people in Amsterdam at the end of last year.

To add to Greenpeace sites running Drupal: Climate 2005 is a Drupal site running at Bryght.

Thanks for the info. I figured the more Drupal work out there the better, as it leads to developments that benefit us all. I hope that Bryght is treating you well, you sounded busy @ that VANDUG meeting.

Civicspace was in a pitch at the end of last year for a large Greenpeace project, but they unfortunately lost against Thoughtworks and Django. See the discussion here. However since then this project - although now technically almost completed - seems to have some trouble gaining ground. The last activity on the site was weeks ago, so the request from Greenpeace UK might be another opportunity for Drupal/CivicSpace to step in.

The Drupal users group in Toronto had some Greenpeace people in it .. their names escape me at the moment though.

I noticed on Planet Drupal that some screenshots from this project were put up. Check them out:

So far, the rating criteria seems to point to Drupal being a great choice, considering that clean urls and various permission groups are top priorities!
