Issue Summary

Please add Thai (th) language to localize.drupal.org. I, sugree, am the leader for this language. We have l10 server running at l10n.drupal.in.th and would like to import.

I second this.

Good, I'm seeing you have 672 suggestions pending. We'd need those approved/declined to proceed. Also, we expect that localize.drupal.org will be THE translation server for Thai once migrated, so you'd need to turn off the server once the migration is started. Are you aware and prepared for this workflow?

#3

Still waiting on your feedback.

#4

I would like to see this implemented too. I saw some Thai translations in http://l10n.privnet.biz/translate/languages/th as well mainly about Ubercart.

I was wondering if I can help it somehow to speed this process.

#5

Those suggestions are mostly alternative ambiguous translations due to complication of Thailand language. We are ready to shutdown service to continue on localize.drupal.org.

#6

Let's get confirmation that both http://l10n.privnet.biz/translate/languages/th and http://l10n.drupal.in.th/ will be shut down at least once the group at localize.drupal.org is created, so we are not setting up a fourth way for translation. http://drupal.org/project/th also exists, but the issue started @sugree is the maintainer for that, so we only need to figure out the shutdown of the localization servers.

#7

FYI: I actually shut down my localization server last January when @sugree deciding to start his localization server at http://l10n.drupal.in.th/

Looks like requestor lost interest. Marking this postponed (vs closed) in the interest of someone else finding it later, and continuing our discussion.

I need Thai translation Add to l.d.o
and waiting for Leader of both http://l10n.privnet.biz/translate/languages/th and http://l10n.drupal.in.th/ confirm to shut down once the group at localize.drupal.org is created.

from my concern Thai language at http://l10n.privnet.biz/translate/languages/th not update for a long time.

and at http://l10n.drupal.in.th/ a lot of suggestions pending which leader may be very busy to approved them.

Last wanted a Real team for translation project at l.d.o

Hello,

I would like to be a part of this. For what i have done so far, I'm an active translator of Rockbox (rockbox.org) to thai.
I could lead this project but I don't really care who will. I just want the language to be put on the central server.

lastly: manop, i know you are thai (from your name :-), we could be the first 2 members of the team...what do you think?

The previous status is postponed. But I would change it to need review..

#12

i am thai and need to see this project is active again

Status:needs review» postponed

There are still 1150 suggestions awaiting approval on http://l10n.privnet.biz/translate/languages/th, and 682 suggestions awaiting approval on http://l10n.drupal.in.th/.

The status is on postponed, waiting for a reply from sugree, who opened this request, and who is running the third-party translation server.

#14

I know an open project like drupal need a developer who is highly consistent. But Sugree's last reply was almost 4 months old now. He probably lost his interest or even forgot about this thread (It seems that he is a pretty busy person). Could a moderator here give me a time frame of how long we have to wait? What if someone else open the same request? Will they be ignore as duplicated? I would love to see this task started and would like to help.

#15

If somebody else would open a similar report, it would probably marked as duplicate (which really is).
If somebody else would have created this report, then the answer would have been What is your relation with the maintainer of the already existing translation server?.

At the actual stage, a localization group is not created on l.d.o, if there are other servers that are used as translation servers, or there is a translation project hosted on Drupal.org, and the request doesn't come from the maintainer of the translation project (or from the maintainer of the translation server).

#16

I see. I'll contact sugree and ask for his direction.

#17

Status:postponed» postponed (maintainer needs more info)

I've sent him a contact mail as well.

@xtony: it is hard to give any time estimates, since the issue is that we'd set up a third fork of the translation instead of presenting an official channel, so we'd need feedback from the existing maintainers to continue.

@kiamlaluno: better status is (maintainer needs more info).

#18

Oh, sorry. I thought that my last reply was to confirm the shutdown process. Those suggestion awaiting translation are ambiguous and we need more suggestions for better quality so they should leave as suggestion until good candidates are submitted. If they are not acceptable to migrate right now, it is ok to ignore them all and start from scratch. I am afraid of low quality translation without notice which means we have to verify all translations again.

To summarize this thread and keep us moving forward:

1) @sugree runs http://l10n.drupal.in.th/ and http://drupal.org/project/th and has agreed to shutdown his server when it is migrated to l.d.o.

2) Gabor has asked that the pending suggestions on http://l10n.drupal.in.th/ be approved or declined, and @sugree has responded that it's OK to either drop them (implying "declined") or import them for future discussion at l.d.o.

3) Nobody representing http://l10n.privnet.biz/translate/languages/th is on this thread yet. I've contacted d.o user @rak, who might be involved with that site, and asked him to join this thread, but if anybody knows for sure who's site that is, please lure them here.

Two questions for Gabor:
Is @sugree's response adequate, or do you actually need him to go in to http://l10n.drupal.in.th/ and decline all of the suggestions?
Do we need to resolve the privnet.biz issue to move forward? In my opinion, getting @sugree's stuff on to l.d.o. is a net win, even if there's still an unresolved fork out there.

Status:active» reviewed & tested by the community

I think @sugree' reply is fine, and we can go ahead and create the team.

#22

Ok, given all this nice progress, I've created the team at http://localize.drupal.org/languages/th and intended to make @surgee the maintainer, but he did not seem to have logged in on localize.drupal.org yet, so his account was not available to assign the group to. (I'm marked as the owner until you log in on l.d.o).

We're almost there. @surgee: your turn.

#23

Thank. I also shutdown l10n.drupal.in.th.

Ok, granted you admin/manager permissions in the group.

Please expect that there might be bumps in the service. You are among the beta-tester of this live instance. Thanks for helping out and please report issues as you find them! Your team members can now join and help import existing translations and work on more translations.

Anybody can sign up for being a member of the team and they will be able to submit suggestions right away. The initial admin can change permissions of people signing up, widening their capabilities. See http://localize.drupal.org/node/616 [2] for explanation on how. It is highly suggested to grant both moderation permissions to those who you also designate admins.

Welcome on board!
