We have several Drupal.org modules that I think it would be a good idea to have some kind of a "Spam handling" module category:
http://drupal.org/project/mollom
http://drupal.org/project/captcha
http://drupal.org/project/spamicide
http://drupal.org/project/hashcash
http://drupal.org/project/recaptcha
http://drupal.org/project/egglue_captcha
http://drupal.org/project/captcha_pack
http://drupal.org/project/spam
http://drupal.org/project/antispam
...
http://drupal.org/project/modules?text=spam
I think "Spam prevention" is a good name for the new category.

avpadernoAs there are many modules that would fit in the category, it would be good to have such category.
To be useful, the maintainers of those modules should use the new category. Should we add the category for the modules, or wait for the maintainers to do it?

avpadernoI added the new taxonomy term (http://drupal.org/admin/content/taxonomy/edit/term/7266).
If anybody thinks is not a good idea to have such category (or that a description should be added), feel free to reopen this report.

dave reidWent through and tagged the majority of the spam prevention modules with the new taxonomy.

silverwing commentedWhen I click on the spam prevention link on the module project page to visit http://drupal.org/taxonomy/term/7266 I don't see any projects listed and get "There are currently no posts in this category."

dave reidThat looks like a bug in the taxonomy term listing, or maybe cached data? The Apache Solr results seem to be working: http://drupal.org/project/modules?filters=tid%3A7266&solrsort=sort_title.... Please file a new issue since it is unrelated.
