Can't install

I have Drupal 6. I installed the mimemail first. Everything worked find. I uploaded the send module and enabled it. It did exactly what I wanted it to do, send emails of several different content types. I went back to the administer Modules but would only get a blank gray screen. My web consultant set the status via phpMyadmin to 0. Everything worked again. I enabled the mimemail. It continued to work. I enabled send and again I couldn't administer Modules. I used Filezilla to delete send. Everything worked fine. I uploaded send and it again froze. Do I need to delete the data from the tables and start all over again? I had clicked on repair tables in phpMyAdmin. I like the module. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks.
