Support for more than 2-way chat?

Is it possible to expand the module so that more than two parties can be active in the chat?

I am preparing a website to allow my students to collaborate in virtual study room and would like to have the ability for up to 8 people to be involved simultaneously. I discovered DimDim, but it does not have a Drupal module.
