Having row display differently if it is the only result from a view query?

Hi,

Client has a requirement that if there is only one row returned when a view executes, that it display slightly more data (but not the actual node) than from a normal list. Does anyone have any ideas how this would be done? I've looked at offsets and the like but can't see them satisfying the requirement, so would the best path be to create a purpose built display that extends say Page now or would I just grab something like hook_pre_render and put some logic in there?
