Thank you for your contribution.

I found your module through the related block at http://drupal.org/project/auto_username and as ar I can see both modules try to do the same only that auto_username takes a more generalized aproach. Maybe you'd like to ask for co maintainership there and work together on a d6 version?

Best regards
Sebastian

I agree both modules have similar requirement.
auto_username does not have a D6 version. So I had to create one for myself.
This module is a result of that effort.

So if Generate Username is basically a D6 port of auto_username the two modules probably should be merged don't you think? Also you might want to look at http://drupal.org/project/email_registration wich works in a similar way.

You never asked about a D6 version or offered to help port it to Drupal 6 or get involved. If you wanted to create one for yourself, you should ask the module maintainer and offer to create one off of that, to reduce code duplication.

Frankly I'd love the help on auto_username, as I haven't even looked at it in over a year, don't use it except on one site where it barely works, and think the entire approach is flawed until core's handling of user accounts stops being fundamentally broken. :-)

This issue’s project has disappeared. Most likely, it was a sandbox project, which can be deleted by its maintainer. See the Lost & found issues project page for more details. (The missing project ID was 343877)
