SpriteMe looks pretty cool and looks like it could be pretty slick.
I am not familiar with all the licenses and how they work. Could something with Apache License, Version 2.0. be included at Drupal.org?

Is that a no for Drupal inclusion, then?
I don't know for sure. There are quite a few modules that just have instructions to "go to website x, download x package and install in your x directory". So maybe it could do something like that.
