I just updated to ImageField 6.x.3-1. Though the descriptions are still in the database, the fields are no longer visible in edit mode, so I can't modify them or add descriptions to new images. (See screenshot.)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You'll need to provide more information about which version of ImageField you upgraded from that caused the problem. I believe you can fix your situation just by editing the field under admin/content/node-type/[type]/fields and re-enabling the description field.

Same problem for me. Unfortunately i don't remember which version I upgraded from.

Excellent! Thank you, quicksketch. Re-enabling the Description Field worked.
BTW I upgraded from 6.x-3.0-alpha6
