Hello everyone,

I am a Drupal newbie so please, please bare with me. I did some research on this site and cannot find what I am looking for so the forum is the next best thing to investing more of my time to just hit wall. I need a module that will provide survey capabilities. I want users to be able to answer about ten questions regarding IT certifications (about 450) and then allow users to view the results of the survey in a summary form. There does not seem to be a survey module that is advanced enough but again I am new to Drupal. Just a nudge in the right direction would help me out. By the way, Drupal seems very cool so far. Keep all the great work everyone.

Out,
MorgMac

Could be stating the obvious here but did you check the survey module - http://drupal.org/project/survey

survey works great (4.6.5) you need the http://drupal.org/project/forms too for this

Another newbie question.

I have read what documentation there is on Survey, which is thin, compared to the Forms module. My question is, what does Survey actually buy me? I installed both Forms and Survey, but I do not see how survey helps me actually create surveys.

I guess I was expecting it to provide me with pre-packaged ways to drop radio buttons, text boxes, etc onto a page. It seems to me I still need to delve into the depths of the Forms module to do this.
I am willing to do that...but before I do, I want to make sure I am understanding the purpose of the Survey Module properly. I think I am missing something here...

I have looked at http://drupal.org/handbook/modules/survey - but there really isn't anything there that shows what to do.
I also looke at http://drupal.org/project/survey.

Is there anyone out there with a sample survey that just shows one of each type of question format that is possible?

I have used the Forms & Survey module minimally for Drupal 4.6 and when both are added, a new content type is added, "Survey." The Survey module uses the Forms module to allow the creation of custom forms, in this case, the Survey module is creating multiple forms, each one is a question of yours. The final result of the added survey is a bunch of forms which are all separate questions. They work together.

When you click create content, you can select "Survey" and each time you add a new form (each new question is a separate form) you can select the following types which should suit almost every survey with some creative questions:

textfield
password
textarea
radios
select
checkbox
file

The results can be analyzed in Excel and other spreadsheet programs, but I am not familiar with making a summary page of it within Drupal to be displayed to users after the survey. Each survey has a different way of being analyzed so that might be another module. Plus, it can't analyze text; only integers and selected percentages... So think of that in creating the survey...

Also, is anyone in the works of converting the modules Forms & Survey to 4.7? Is there a page to see if someone is working on updating modules?

Adding the Forms & Survey module to 4.7, even adding the .mysql tables, you can click to add a Survey, but it brings you to the typical add page, story, book page...

Thanks,
Adam

Hi,

I have the some problem as you. I am also looking for a survey module which users can add surveys and collect results.

So far, my search has come up with only UGent Drupal Survey Manager at http://www.kvw.be/portfolio.

I have posted a similar forum post at http://drupal.org/node/352838
