I am developing a custom site search interface using multiple Views in a Panels Page. However, Panels Pages are unable to override the default Drupal search path (/search), which is quite a bummer. The following error is displayed when attempted:
"That path is already in used. This system cannot override existing paths."
This is disappointing (and the grammar could use a tweak: used -> use). Views pages have the ability to override the /search path. It would be nice if Panels could as well.
Would this be difficult to implement? Can anyone think of a workaround?
Much appreciated.

merlinofchaos commentedYou'd have to write a task plugin that understands how search works.
The difficulty in overriding existing pages is the main reason Panels 3 happened and Panels 2 deadended. What Views does is a half-assed thing that only works for simple things. But if you think you can override search with Views, please try it.
