Maybe I'm dumb, but I don't seem to be getting anywhere on the multisite process. Drupal installed fine and I can go to http://myaccount.myhost.com/drupal and I have a site there. But when I go to http://myaccount.myhost.com/drupal/sites/mydomain.com I get a "Directory has no index file." I also pointed a domain to it as in test.mydomain.com and I get the same error when I go there. I have created the database, changed the permissions, copied the settings.php from default etc.
Do I need to copy the index file into that directory and if so, which other files?
Confused.....

did you point the docroot of the subdomain of the new domain to the folder that holds index.php?
what documentation are you following?
have you seen this: http://www.slideshare.net/jvandyk/multisite-van-dyk-walkah-presentation
I am using the instructions
I am using the instructions here http://drupal.org/getting-started/6/install/multi-site

and that document explains docroot.
have you pointed the docroot to the folder that contains index.php?
Don't know how to do Symlinks
and also the hosting service is not very helpful, so I am going to single site install. Also, I realized that the two sites I want to do right now have almost nothing in common, so I can live with Multiple installations.
Cheers!
Easier to learn to do symlinks
Just sayin'...
You'll make life a lot easier for yourself if you set it up properly from the get-go.
