Issue Summary

When creating a new template I noticed that my theme was "breaking" (even with the default two column layout). I tried with Garland as well - when I put anything in the sidebar (I tried with stuff in the right sidebar), the content of the sidebar does not show up where it's supposed to but rather near the footer area.

I then tried to add a div container to the tpl.php so I could try to do a clear:both on that one. I noticed that the changed code did not show up even after emptying the cache. I seem to not be able to add anything to the tpl.php outside of the containing #interface_startform.

Can anyone reproduce this behavior?

@aschiwi - help me understand the issue a little more.

You are writing your own template for interface and something is breaking, correct?

Can you post the template code for me to take a look? What is sounds like is that the markup is not enclosed properly, and there are a number of reasons this could be happening.

Uhm, no - I found this issue while creating my own template, sorry for the confusion (was writing while trying to figure this out). Let's assume I didn't do that. I used the two column layout on a custom content type with cck fields. Now anything that should be in the sidebar is now "somewhere else" (see the screenshots). In the screenshot you see a 4 column layout but it really is the same thing with the standard two column layout (which I didn't change). This also happens in Garland. Is that not happening to you? I'm not testing this in a brand new installation so let me know - might just be an issue with my installation.

Same here, using a mostly unmodified Zen sub-theme.

My own template, I apologize for any confusion (created) when trying to understand this Uhm, no - I've found this problem when writing. 'S suppose that I have not done. I'm a custom content type with CCK fields for the two column layout is used. Now, the sidebar should be something more "somewhere else" (see screen). screen display, to see a four column layout, but really the same thing with the standard two-column layout (which is unchanged). This also happens in Garland. is not you? I'm a brand new installation so these tests do not tell me - just might be a problem with my setup. (:
