When looking at the "manage fields" tab section in the content type list, the top section of the display shows all of the fields in that content type but they are just separated by a space and not lined up in neat columns, making it more difficult to read especially if you have dozens of fields.

Also, while I'm thinking of it, the columns below that section, labeled "label", "name", and "type" aren't generally wide enough to handle long names for the first two columns, so they wrap around making it difficult to read. There's plenty of room to make the columns a lot wider.

ok, this took a bit long, sorry,
I see what you mean, not sure whether I can fix that, but I have an idea (re: issue 1)
One would be to group the tabs if there are more than xx items at once, lets say a select box, or something like that, that will fix it, no-one really wants to see such a huge list like you have on that screenshot :) would a select box work? thats the question.
Edit specific field [select box] [submit]

might work tho

although it will have to be specific to the cck manage fields page - if we keep that wording, or come up with something more generic

I guess that would be acceptable. But actually the list at the top is superfluous given that the configure link in the lower list is the same thing, so you could probably just eliminate the top list entirely.

What about the 2nd issue?
