I have a functioning install which appeared to be running fine. However, I just realized that when you reply (ie: leave a comment) to a forum topic, the replies do not show up.
It's a little more complex than that-
If you go to the forums container, you can see that there is one topic in the forum, but no replies. Clicking on that topic shows no replies. However, the 'new comments' block shows multiple replies to that topic, and when you click on them the topic and its three replies show up.
(not sure if this matters, but the original topic was a 'new post to forum'. the first reply was a 'add comment', and the subsequent two replies were 'replies' to the previous comments.)
note: im a drupal moron, so perhaps replies coudl be in simple terms? i coudlnt find an answer with a half hour of forum searching, and ive run cron and indexing just in case that was the problem.
many thanks-
anthony

I will take a guess at this, Goto Content management > Content types > Forum Topic > Edit and click open the comments section and choose flat list expanded in the default display mode.
