huh? Preconfigured for what? When themes are hosted on drupal.org that's where they're downloaded. There aren't usually multiple versions available elsewhere.

I've been reading lots of posts where people have been stating they've downloaded a preconfigured package instead of just the theme. The pre-configured Drupal install Magazeen Theme including a sql database.

I'm assuming its someones backup that they uploaded or something, not sure... But i need it either way. :(

I need it to upload on to my own server and then swap out the content with my own.

There are Installation Profiles, but I don't know of one for a magazine.

Where are these posts that you're reading? Maybe if we can see one, we'll know better what you are asking for.

I also would either like a reconfigured "Magazeen" theme template, as the theme that you download looks great but try making it look like the presentation yourself.... For instance I can not figure out how to make the top image menu, which is the primary reason why I chose it. If the developer or someone can post a bit of instructions on configuring the theme to look like the presentation would be great. Or maybe just tell me how to do the top image menu.

Also I think it makes sense for all themes to come pre-configured in the way they are presented , letting the user modify from there... a thought

That's not what the op was asking for. In any case, I'm not sure what you're asking for. People makes themes available on drupal.org any way they wish. There's no way to make a theme 'preconfigured' for every possible style and layout someone else might want. If you want to change a theme you can-- it's called 'theming'. And there's lots of documentation available: http://drupal.org/theme-guide.

the magazeen theme installs without, as far as i can tell, the top dock with the thumbnail images.

you can get a preconfigured installation of drupal that defaults to the magazeen theme with this dock installed. it also has several other modules, and also includes some dummy content. i've just done this after trying to figure out the dock for a little while. the only problem seems to be that you need to have this when you install drupal initially, in order to dump data into the database. if you already have a site and want to add the theme i'm not sure the preconfigured installation will work.

i got the link to the preconfigured drupal installation here:
