Hi,
I have a community website with a few hundreds active users, so any mistake I make in the notification configuration has quite an impact.
I'm not sure if this is a bug or just my bad, but I can't disable auto-subscription from the notifications. Under the OG configuration I disabled "Autosubscribe users to any groups that they join.", but the checkbox at the end of every post "Do not send notifications for this update" remains unchecked by default.
This means that, under the current configuration, users get email notifications by default, and if they want NOT to receive any more updates, they have to say that explicitly. Furthermore, the system doesn't remember if you check/uncehcked the box before, it goes back to default (unchecked).
For the moment I patched up the situation by putting the 1 day interval by default, so that people are not flooded by emails, but is there no way of really solving it?
If I can find no solution I'm going back to "comment subscribe", which is deactivated by default and if you want you can subscribe, though it's much less configurable and can't handle content types, subscription by author, etc...
Thanks in advance for the help, I hope it was just my bad and that it's easily solvable.

kmillecam commented@Phate,
The OG configuration setting "Autosubscribe users to any groups that they join." controls whether or not new group members get notifications of events in their group.
The checkbox you are referring to (at the end of each post) is not related to Organic Groups but is related to individual posts.
I believe the setting you're looking for is at /admin/messaging/notifications/content and is named "Set all users to "autosubscribe" by default".
Users have the option (via their user profile settings) to say whether or not they are automatically notified of replies to a post they comment on. The checkbox at the bottom of each node lets them opt in or out at the node level.
Hope this helps.

friolator commentedWe would also like to disable autosubscribe, but there is no option on the notifications settings pages, including the one referenced in #1:
/admin/messaging/notifications/content and is named "Set all users to "autosubscribe" by default".
By default, all notifications forms on node/add pages for all content types are coming up as auto-subscribed, with only an opt-out checkbox.
We're using Notifications 6.x 2.1

kip stanning commentedin d7 you find it on the >Structure >Content Types in vertical tab PUBLISHING OPTIONS at the bottom ...sorry, that was after installing the subscriptions moduleComment #5
ZetaTrooper commentedI also want to disable automatic email subscriptions for OG in Drupal 7. I cannot find any information on how to do this. The messaging configuration and notifications configuration and og configuration do not seem to have a way to configure OG email notifications.
