Setting default menu item on the primary menu

Issue Summary

Hello, I have two menu blocks enabled as my top navigation bar:

PrimaryMenu
SecondaryMenu

SecondaryMenu displays children items of the top level menu items in PrimaryMenu. Everything works great, except for one thing. When I go to my homepage, instead of the first menu item being the active element ("News"), the menu item for "Opinion" is highlighted instead. Likewise, SecondaryMenu will display the child items of Opinion.

The strange thing is that if I disable "Opinion" (but not the child items), when I go to my homepage it will still display the child items from Opinion.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to set "News" as the default active element in my menu block for PrimaryMenu?

I should also say that all of the menu items point to Views 2.0 views pages.
