Hey folks,
I'm trying to figure out what my best option is for setting up a website for a magazine.
So, I'm looking for a CMS that will do the following:
1) Allow subscribers to log & save a cookie so they can see premium content;
2) Prevent multiple users from logging on with the same ID;
3) Can be skinned to give it a nice look & feel; and
4) Ideally, it will also be able to integrate with a credit card-processing service to allow people to subscribe.
How much of this is available in Drupal out of the box (or with a module)?
Thanks.

it is all in
it is all in right now.
1) that can be done with the role funktion. it is already build in in the core drupal installation
2) yes, they register and get their own login and id
3) yes, drupal is a really well done system that you can skin whatever you like
--- that is all common cms tasks, that you will also find in some other content management systems. maybe you also want to check out that joomla distribution that is aimed to be a online magazine: http://ijoomla.com
4) I do not know about automatic credit card processing functions right now, but there seems to be a great module on the way, especially for that stuff you want to do. here: http://drupal.org/node/51181
multiple subscribers using a single pwd?
Thanks for the reply, Norritt. Yeah, I guess most of what I'm talking about is fairly basic CMS functionality.
There's one other feature I'm wondering about: Assigning multiple users to a pwd. I'd like to be able to give a business a volume subscription that allows multiple people to log on using the pwd, BUT I want to control how many people can use the pwd concurrently. For example, Company X might pay for only 5 subscriptions. If a 6th person tries to log on using the pwd, they shouldn't be allowed in until one of the other people log off.
Is this functionality available?
Thanks.
very special funktion
I have not a detailed overview of the modules available, but I think that is a such a special feature nobody has thought about before. You will have to write your own modul for that.
paypal sub
#4 is not available, at least not for recurring payments.

Another Needed Feature: Export of Current Subscriber Lists
Hello,
As an utter newbie (I haven't started using Drupal yet, but we will be transitioning to it soon), one feature we're looking for in a subscriber module is the ability to auto-generate a tab-text or equivalent list of current subscribers, their addresses, and their expiration dates to be able to send to the printer each month at press time, and/or for fund appeals (we are a nonprofit group). We would also need to export a similar list of people with particular expiration dates in order to send renewal mailings.
Without this capability, we would still be stuck with our M$ Access database.
Is anyone doing this already? Is this easy? Difficult? Any ideas/suggestions?
