I'm running into the same problem here.

New 4.7 site, minimal modules (gallery, tinymce, and tagadelic). Just updated tagadelic to make sure I was on the latest version and I'm running into the same "timeout exceeded" problem on line 599 of includes/menu.inc as described here.

I'll poke around also myself, but if anyone has any ideas that would be nice. A comment by drupallover on that same page gives some potentially useful info.

Please post some stats here:
* total amount of tags
* tag-limit (defaults to 60, but some adventurous people crank it up to 300)
* total amount of nodes
